Basically no one need but sometimes people don't realize why some others react this way or that way with them... So in this case if one person tell another nicely and with good intention what they are i guess it is ok... But is the person ready to hear that ??? Not sure... Many times we prefer being blind about ourself then seeing the thrut... But at the base we know who and what we are....

everyman fully well knows what he actually is. For the sake of self- knowledge he does not need that another one should tell him what he is. A liar can deceive the whole world but he him self knows that he lies. A thief can devise a thousand devices to conceal his crime but he himself is aware that he is a thief. A person involved in error can present a thousand arguments to assure the people that he is honestly convinced of the disbelief, atheism or polytheism, which he professes and follows, but his own conscience is never unaware of why he persists in that creed and what, in fact, prevents him from understanding and admitting its error and falsity. An unjust, wicked, dishonest, unmoral and corrupt person can even suppress the voice of his own conscience by inventing one or another excuse so that it may stop reproaching him and should be satisfied that he is doing whatever he is doing only because of certain compulsions, expediencies and genuine needs, but despite this he has in any case the knowledge of what wrong he has committed against a certain person, how he has deprived another of his rights, how he deceived still another and that unlawful methods he used to gain what he has gained.

 Bismillah

 Salamu Alaikum

Yes, every soul needs to be reminded of who he/she exactly is. After the solemn oath of our FITRA in heaven we all when land on this planet are unaware of our true self till ALLAH SUBHANAAHU WA TAALA's mercy comes to our rescue and remind us of our truth.

07:172. And (remember) when thy Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their reins, their seed, and made
them testify of themselves, (saying): Am I not your Lord? They said: Yea, verily. We testify.

Yet, as we see not many remember this on our own, do we?

Our Leader & Rasool ALLAH Salla ALLAHO Alaihi Wa Al Salam too has to go through this phase of uncertinity hence the verse........

93:07. Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)?

But like exception is in all walk of life and there were/are few noble souls who had the great blessing of knowing their true selves even on landing on this planet viz. Haz. ADAM (SAW), Haz. YAHYA (SAW) & Haz. ISSA (SAW) to name a few.

19:29. Then she pointed to him. They said How can we talk to one who is in the cradle, a young boy?
19:30. He spake: Lo! I am the slave of Allah.

Till we accept our true self we shall be projecting our selves other than what is our true status and as long we continue to do that (projecting our selves more than what our true worth is) than ALLAH SUBHANAAHU WA TAALA's SUNNAH will have its effect on us......

07:146. I shall turn away from My revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully in the earth,...

May ALLAH SUBHANAAHU WA TAALA have mercy on us slaves and may HE guide us as HE did our LEADER (SAW) , Amin.

Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)
And peace be unto those sent (to warn).
And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds!

 Bismillah

 Salamu Alaikum

Brother Sanali says : everyman fully well knows what he actually is.

As per my above post not every one does.

Further, A liar can deceive the whole world but he him self knows that he lies.

Well, to know a lie we must know the truth first, right?

Once forsaken the soul is subjected to the ill luck where what ever they do or think is made seem fair to them. In this illusion they are so sure of their wrong belief that they go on to defend it with their full might and even kill. As it is plain to see in the prevailing World around us.

The only way out from this forsaken situation is to accept the truth and surrender to it. But alas! not for everyone. Why? Well, ALLAHU ALAM.

Nevertheless, the ones who are lucky to be on the right side must bow down and thank their LORD no ends for having saved them from humiliation in this life and in the hereafter, Insha ALLAH (SWT)

The sole reason for our creation was to ACKNOWLEDGE HIS MERCIES on us & THANK HIM (SWT) for the same.

Remember, the words of Iblis  " Wa Laa Tajidu Aksarahum SHAAKIRIINA"(07:17)
"and Thou wilt not find most of them THANKFUL (unto Thee)."

The only thing that can keep Iblis and his designes away from us - our thanks giving. As long as we remain thankful for our LORD's mercies we shall have respite from FEAR & GRIEF, Insha ALLAH (SWT).

Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)
And peace be unto those sent (to warn).
And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds!

Your screen name  sound  like  sonali ( golden ) .  Normally in my country , sisters have that name .

I guess , it's better if we all mention  our gender in profile --- no more confusion smile face
