O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (the pious - see V.2:2). ( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #183)

b.. Is,this world a place of punishment for him, as the monks think, or a place of rewards as the believers of the law of transmigration think, or a place of entertainment and enjoyment, as the materialists think, or a battlefield, as the followers of Darwin and Marx think?

 Bismillah

 Salamu Alaikum

Us, humans and our various perception/opinions of the ONLY TRUTH are like the story of 7 blind men and the Elephant.

ALLAH SUBHANAAHU WA TAALA has informed us that,........the life of the world is but matter of illusion.(57:20)

With this blind fold (illusion) on our eyes humans tend to deal with the truth with guess work of the part it had touched and exprienced. Hence, for the monk it is the place of punishment etc.

But the illusion or the blind fold is on till the mercy come and rescues the good. The sight without the blind fold is truely amazing, AlhumduLILLAAH.

To understand the life one must understand the purpose of it, right? And, to do that we ought to fast forward and check the final outcome related in the Good Book. To do that we shall need to read the verse cited above in full........

57:20. Know that the life of this world is only play, and idle talk, and pageantry, and boasting among you, and rivalry in
respect of wealth and children; as the likeness of vegetation after rain, whereof the growth is pleasing to the
husbandman, but afterward it drieth up and thou seest it turning yellow then it becometh straw. And in the Hereafter
there is grievous punishment, and (also) forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure, whereas the life of the world
is but matter of illusion.

So in short, there are 2 outcomes, one in punishment & the other in good company of the TRUE LORD (SWT).

Each one of us has recieved a goal and are made to work towards it for the above cited end results. Do we have control on the mechanism that are pushing us towards it? NOPE. Though, it is hard for us to accept the fact owing to the illusion. The seemingly power & control we seem to enjoy (part of the illusion) tends to mislead us from the truth. This instill arrogance in us and makes us more rigid to the idea of being drivers rather than being driven. For all the wrong credits taken by us, we get pushed harder towards the first outcome i.e. punishment. So irrespective the soul lived here in penance or gay abundance the outcome still is the same as he/she were made to discount the role of the supreme power in its life.

But a life spend in the knowledge of submission to what ever befelled with humbleness and acceptance of the wisdom with full awareness of the great power that matters at work in thankfulness is a life well spent. At times in gay abundance, in penance, in worship etc as ordained, AlhumduLILLAAH. Such aware souls who have been given a taste of the good company in this life are prepared for their goal in the hereafter i.e. forgiveness of the minor sins that they were made to do to check their darajah(ranks) and ultimate COMPANIONSHIP, AlhumduLILLAAH.

Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)
And peace be unto those sent (to warn).
And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds!
